Immigration Law Seminar: For Immigration, Criminal, and Plaintiff Trial Attorneys

Description: This seminar is for immigration defense attorneys, criminal defense attorneys, and for plaintiff trial attorneys who have an interest in analyzing, preparing and prosecuting civil actions for damages and civil rights violations on behalf of immigrant clients.

The first part of the program will review strategies which could be especially valuable in immigration court cases. Presenters will be Elliott Ozment, Tricia Herzfeld, Elaine Witty, and Andrew Free.

The second part of the program will give attorneys a better understanding of how to represent immigrants in criminal matters so that collateral consequences in immigration court can be minimized. The final hour will give attorneys a better understanding of their ethical obligations to their immigrant clients under Padilla v. Kentucky. This ethics hours will be presented by Elliott Ozment and Tricia Herzfeld.
