A Tour of Tennessee Attorney’s Trust Account Handbook

Description:

Need guidance setting up or maintaining a trust account? A new publication from the Board of Professional Responsibility can help. This presentation will cover topics ranging from the basics of trust accounting rules, to the day-to-day chores of reconciliation and recordkeeping, to more complicated issues regarding the kinds of internal controls lawyers must have in place and how to spot and avoid increasingly-sophisticated scams targeting lawyers and their trust accounts. This resource will provide guidance for new lawyers and seasoned lawyers. Learn how to avoid errors that often result in discipline for trust account violations.

  • Brian Faughnan, Lewis Thomason and Chair of the TBA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility
