The presentation will introduce the concepts of Medical Staff organization, structure, and authority. Legal implications of medical staff bylaws and issues impacting credentialing, peer review and corrective action, as well as legal protections for Medical Staff leaders, will be addressed. The increasing trend toward employment of physicians, and the implications of that trend, will be a part of the discussion.
