Tort and Insurance 2016: Pre-trial Advocacy Tips

Description:

During the writing process of Tennessee Law of Civil Trial, it became virtually impossible for John Day not to offer some practical suggestions about various topics learned over the years about trial preparation. Those topics are assembled here in this presentation. None of the suggestions offered here are either earthshaking revelations or magic bullets for success at trial. The hope, however, is to bring these matters to the consciousness of those entering uncharted waters and spare the reader the anxiety that comes from being unaware of these issues ("I don't know what I don't know!") or, worse yet, the harm that can come if some of these issues are not properly addressed in advance of trial.

Great lessons and/or reminders of how to prepare for trial and how important it is to be totally prepared. And that diligent, time consuming preparation is what separates the extraordinary from the ordinary lawyer.

Excellent, practical pointers on trial practice.

John is such a good presenter. His information is invaluable.

Good concise information.

This was extremely informative and explained what steps you can take to win at a trial. One of the most interesting things I learned was that proper usage of the expert disclosure rules could eliminate the need to take an experts deposition.

Thanks for pointing out helpful tips for inexperienced (or even experienced) trial lawyers. We don't do this often so being organized and managing a trial properly is hugely helpful.

Great materials and presentation. Very helpful.
