Dispute Resolution

ADR 2016: Ethics

Description:

The TBA Dispute Resolution Section has designed this seminar for both ADR professionals (mediators and arbitrators) and lawyers, in recognition that, while many mediator, arbitrator and advocacy skills apply despite the subject matter of the dispute, there are nuances for different cases that depend on the type of case being mediated or arbitrated. This session is a  discussion about The ADR Commission; its role in providing Ethics Advisory Opinions and the proceedings for discipline of Rule 31 Listed Mediators.

I found him an interesting presenter -- loved his Mass. accent and references to that. He had a good conversational tone -- which held my attention.

I learned about the complaint process for mediators.

Hard task of keeping attention with this subject but was successful.

There were no materials or slides.

Would be nice to be able to hear the questions and comments from the audience and not just the speaker's response.

I have trouble with videos with no slides or other visuals to hold my attention. The speaker was incredibly knowledgeable, but the slow pace of the presentation made it challenging to stay engaged. Materials were good, though.

Fairly dry presentation, although I know the presenter has vast experience in this area.

History and value of mediation.
