Beyond Black Letter Law: Tennessee Ethics

Description:

Every Tennessee attorney is obligated to know the rules and to act in accordance with their ethical duties. Nevertheless, the increasing complexity associated with the modern day practice of law, as well as increasing specialization, has led to a world in which compliance with our ethical obligations is not always so simple as just sitting down and reading what the rules say. This course is designed to look at some specific facts and circumstances which, depending on the nature of your practice, may or may not be common to your daily experiences. Nevertheless, the course is designed to enhance awareness and understanding of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Scenarios include: reporting ethical violations, working with opposing counsel, client files, and several others.Interactive text programs include questions, response actions, tab activities, and other engaging features.

Great course!

Interesting points on fees.

I thought at first I would hate the reading part of it but it was sort of nice to have the feel of a test before getting the correct answer.

This program was very well done. The factual scenarios are realistic and thought provoking. The interactive format is engaging.

I thought that these were challenging and relevant questions. More presentations like these would be excellent, esp. more questions related to conflicts of interest and commercial transaction scenarios. Dan Small

The format of how to answer some of these questions was weird. I would have preferred that they all be straight multiple choice questions.

Interesting format.

This format was very effective and engaging. Situations were relevant to all practice types.

This format is always interesting, and with the explanatory background ensures fuller understanding than most other seminars.

Confirmed much of my understanding on these issues and gave me new insights into ethical rules outside of my area of practice such as domestic relations and plaintiff fee-splitting.

This went into some nuances I had not seen before. Very well done!

Content was a little on the dull side. Some of the examples were also extremely specific and nuanced to isolated areas of practice, so of limited usefulness.
