Intellectual Property: Trademarking Animal Abuse

Description:

The Lanham Act precludes registration of trademarks when a registrant is involved in illegal goods or services, when a registrant abandons a mark for insufficient oversight, and when a mark is deemed to be disparaging. The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) has several United States trademark registrations for a variety of goods and services related to Tennessee Walking Horses. This presentation explores using the provisions of the Lanham Act to cancel TWHBEA’s trademark portfolio to leverage TWHBEA compliance with the HPA.

Exceptional and passionate discussion of challenging topic with good insights.

One of the best CLEs I have had the opportunity to attend. The speaker was excellent and impassioned and the subject matter was both heartbreaking and necessary. Great job.

Very interesting ideas are presented.

Videos of soring hard to watch but entire presentation very informative and Esther Roberts is clearly a learned, passionate advocate. My new shero.
