MindCraft for Legal Writing: Tips on Writing for the Right Audience

Building Blocks
Description:

In this presentation you will learn to know your goals, your audience and your audience's characteristics (judge vs. opposing counsel vs. client). We will discuss how and why different audiences read differently, and what you can do to maximize the effectiveness of your writing.

Like the ever-popular Minecraft videogame, we will create and build from the bottom up. You will learn the right building blocks and skills needed for writing persuasively, improving counterarguments, proofreading techniques and ways to avoid the ax. All attorneys must write persuasively at some point.
