Tennessee's Judicial Selection Process (known as "The Tennessee Plan") is sun-setting in July of 2008 at the Tennessee General Assembly will be debating which process is the best means of selecting members of the intermediate appellate courts and the Supreme Court. Whether direct election of judges or merit selection with retention elections or the Federal model for selecting judges, any selection process raises issues of ethics.

This forum will provide a variety of perspectives on the issue and help those in the legal community weigh the advantages and disadvantages of the various alternatives.
