General Practice 2015: Bankruptcy Basics

Description:

Bankruptcy laws exist to help individuals who can no longer pay their creditors get a fresh start by liquidating assets to pay debts, or by creating a repayment plan. Bankruptcy laws also protect troubled businesses and provide for orderly distribution to business creditors through reorganization or liquidation. An automatic stay against collection becomes immediately effective (with some exceptions) upon the filing of a bankruptcy case. In this presentation you will learn the basics of the three main chapters of the Bankruptcy Code, which are Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13.

Very informative and interesting.

This was an excellent introduction to bankruptcy. I did have to take some notes because the materials did not note some of the things she spoke on.

It was a great way to get my feet wet in bankruptcy and how to guide my practice as it begins.
