Under the Influencers

Legal Issues Related to Representing Social Media Influencers
Description:

The influencer marketing industry is expected to be worth more than $15 billion in 2022. As the value of influencer's services increase, and the terms of their contracts become more complicated, they will increasingly need to hire attorneys to advise them. This program will focus on legal issues related to representing social media influencers. Speakers will discuss the definition of an influencer; state, local, and federal laws related to social media promotions, contests, and giveaways; and how to negotiate deals for influencers, including common contractual terms. Speakers will also discuss how influencers can protect their valuable intellectual property, including issues related to trademark and copyright protection. Moderated by Molly Shehan (Milom Horsnell Crow Kelley Beckett Shehan), panelists for this session include Todd Hartley (Senior Counsel, Marketing and Communication, Bridgestone), Christian Barker (Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton) and Marieke Bianchi (Creative Artists Agency).

I thought all of the panelists where very engaging and knowledgable on the subject.

This was AWESOME as a younger attorney who is starting to get "influencer" type clients. I loved it and will probably watch again and again as a refresher. So good.

Helpful discussion of terms for agreements with influencers.

The panel's perspective from both the talent and marketer sides really helped bring insight to this specific aspect of modern advertising and legal concerns that come up.

This was a fantastic panel and so timely. Please have them do a follow up on Tik Tok as soon as possible.
