This panel will provide a high-level overview of the Dobbs decision, the resulting state landscape of abortion restrictions, a spotlight on Tennessee’s abortion laws and an overview of the interplay between EMTALA and state abortion restrictions. Finally, the panel will provide guidance on practical issues for providers, including counseling on options, abortion restrictions that extend to “aiding or abetting,” subpoenas and practical medical staff issues.
