Featuring Special Guests ATF Special Agent Thomas Waggoner of the Knoxville Field Division and Assistant United States Attorney Brent N. Jones of the Eastern District of Tennessee.
Description:

The first portion of the presentation will consist of ATF Special Agent Thomas Waggoner discussing issues associated with legal gun ownership in America and the federal regulation of firearms and parts under the Gun Control Act of 1968 and the National Firearms Act of 1934. Special Agent Waggoner will also discuss the types of cases ATF investigates in our community. Special Agent Waggoner has been a federal agent since joining ATF in 2016. He was also a Deputy with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office from 2013 to 2016. The second portion of the presentation will consist of AUSA Brent Jones discussing emerging legal issues with the federal prosecution of firearms and related cases. AUSA Jones has been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 2018. AUSA Jones is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserves Jag Corps and served on active duty from 2007 to 2018.
