Five Ways to Use Chat GPT Safely in the Practice of Law

Description:

Enough with the scaring everyone about generative AI (gAI)! It’s all ethics educators have been doing for months. In an interesting departure, Stuart Teicher (the CLE Performer) is taking a different ethical approach. He’s going to explore five ways lawyers can ethically use AI in the practice. Topics include:

  • How AI helps lawyers communicate effectively with clients (Rule 1.4)
  • Developing case strategy safely with gAI (Competence, Rule 1.1)
  • Avoiding the confidentiality issues inherent in gAI (Rule 1.6(a), (c), and Comment [4])
  • And more!

Made new and difficult AI stuff clear.

Very helpful. Very informative. I guess I didn't really understand how AI worked. The bit about confidentiality is golden. This should be required for all attorneys in 2025. And it was fun.

Learned how AI can help me do routine tasks faster.

I found this program to be very informative and interesting. I am relatively new to Chat GPT so this program provided me with a good overview of things to consider when using generative AI.

Great CLE.
