Great reminder that transactional attorneys need to pay even closer attention to the rules of professional responsibility. Also, being direct in providing legal advice under Rule 2.1 is essential, even in in-house contexts where one may be dealing with sales and marketing teams. Striking a balance between diplomacy and directness when working in-house is essential, but this session emphasized to me that I should err on the more direct side.
A very well-prepared and interesting lesson on an issue that every practicing attorney will face.
