This webcast series, produced by the Family Law Section, is designed to demystify handling business entities in divorce proceedings.

In divorce proceedings, issues are sometimes encountered when dividing, awarding or otherwise adjudicating the rights of parties in Entity Held (EH) Property. These issues present legal quagmires and pitfalls for the Court and litigants.

Similarly, in post-divorce proceedings, these issues are encountered when enforcing Decrees, MDAs and the like which awarded, or attempted to award, EH Property to the individual who is not the owner.

Over the course of a series of five webcasts, presenters will discuss equitable and legal issues which arise from a variety of hotly litigated factual scenarios and how Tennessee courts have adjudicated these issues.

In this first installment of the series, chancellors and judges discuss the court’s challenges in adjudicating the rights of divorcing parties with EH Property together with enforcing Decrees, MDAs and other requests to claim, sell or transfer EH Property.
