Biography

John graduated from the University of Georgia in 1982 with an A.B. degree in History.  He continued his studies at the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating in 1985.  
 
John began his professional career in Savannah, Georgia with Oliver, Maner & Gray, as an insurance defense litigation attorney.  Upon relocating to Middle Tennessee in 1989, he joined Denney, Lackey & Chernau, which later became Chernau, Milam & Weiss.  While with the prior firm, John handled all aspects of real estate transactions, including sales, financing, leasing, development.  He also worked in entity formation and administration, and bankruptcy and limited litigation matters.
 
In 1994, John founded John T. Cook, P.C., and its sister company, Attorneys Title Company, Inc., now with a combined workforce of attorneys and staff numbering 13.
 
Member of the Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association , American Bar Association, and State Bar of Georgia.
