Mr. Burns practices with John Burns Estate & Elder Care Law, PLLC, in Franklin, Tennessee, and Decatur, Alabama. He focuses his practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning and probate matters. He regularly handles Medicaid and Veterans benefits matters, estate and trust administration, guardianships and conservatorships. Mr. Burns is a member of the Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi Bar Associations. He is also Past Chair of the Tax Section of the Tennessee Bar Association and Chair of the State Taxation of Trusts Committee of the ABA Tax Section's State and Local Tax Committee. A fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the Nashville Bar Foundation, Mr. Burns is a prolific writer and speaker. Mr. Burns received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Mississippi and a LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida.
