Faculty Profile: Barry Abbott

Barry Abbott is a native of Chickamauga, Georgia and graduate of UTC and The University of Tennessee College of Law.  Barry is a founding member of Abbott, Weiss, Faith & Darnell, PLLC in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he served as the Managing Member for 30 years until May of 2025.  Barry is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Georgia and is a proud member of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. Barry focuses his practice at Abbott, Weiss, Faith & Darnell in the areas of construction litigation, real estate litigation, real estate transactions and business litigation.  Barry is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, where his unit supported the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq in 1991.  Barry resides in Chattanooga with his wife Geri.
