Biography

After graduating from Vanderbilt Law School in 1990, Heather Ross clerked for Judge Sanders on the Tennessee Court of Appeals.  She then practiced Employment and Labor law, representing different media outlets throughout the nation. 

Since 1994, Ms. Ross has worked in the Tennessee Attorney General's Office, specializing in civil rights and tort litigation.  She has represented a wide range of state employees from most of the departments in both federal and state courts.  Ms. Ross has also represented the State in negligence claims filed in the Tennessee Claims Commission - but even those can require participation by one or more state employees as "main state witnesses" in the defense.  

Ms. Ross is married with two sons in college.  She enjoys swimming, biking, and working pit crew for her husband at his various race car events.
