Christine is a Senior Manager who has over 20 years of experience in state and local taxes. Christine joined EY in 2006. Prior to working for EY, Christine worked for the Tennessee Department or Revenue and the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General. During her time at the Department of Revenue, she served in both the hearing office and the legal office. As one of the Commissioner of Revenue’s hearing officers, Christine held taxpayer conferences for businesses contesting assessments and advised the Commissioner on the nature of controversies being presented in audits. While in the legal office, she negotiated settlements, reviewed letter rulings, drafted legislation, and acted as a liaison with the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. She also represented Tennessee at Multi-State Tax Commission and Streamlined Sales Tax Meetings. Prior to working for the Department of Revenue, Christine served as Assistant Attorney General with the Tax Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office where she represented the Commissioner of Revenue in a variety of tax cases.
Since joining EY, Christine has focused on sales and use tax issues in the Southeast region. She serves as EY’s state sales tax desk for Tennessee and Alabama. Additionally, she serves clients in numerous industries, including manufacturing, technology, healthcare and retail. Her work for these clients includes assisting with audits, look back reviews, voluntary disclosure requests, and private letter ruling requests.
