Faculty Profile: Albert Bart

Albert Bart is a member of Sherrard & Roe practicing in the corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and securities regulation areas. Mr. Bart has experience representing both public and private companies, including with respect to general operational and contract matters, corporate governance, merger and acquisition activity, registered equity and debt financings and private placements, and joint ventures and other strategic arrangements. For his public company clients, Mr. Bart also advises on periodic reporting and other public company disclosure obligations, stock exchange and Section 16 compliance, and insider trading. Mr. Bart also represents issuers and investors in venture capital financings, including general partners in the formation of investment partnerships, and provides counsel to investment advisors on a variety of registration and compliance matters. 

Mr. Bart is included in the Nashville Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" (Corporate and Securities) (2007) and serves as a member of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Partnership 2010 Business Recruitment Committee. Mr. Bart also speaks at various continuing legal education seminars and events on topics concerning SEC compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and entity formation. Mr. Bart graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1996, where he was a George D. Hall Memorial Scholar and served as a member of the Moot Court Board. Mr. Bart serves on the University of Tennessee College of Law Clinical Advisory Committee and is an alumnus of the Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. He is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations.
