Biography

David Elliott is a Director at Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C., where he has practiced law since 1996. Mr. Elliott utilizes his background in mathematics to solve problems in business and financial transactions, and to provide strategic counsel and representation. He represents lenders and borrowers in multimillion-dollar transactions, and has acted as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and borrower's counsel on various tax-exempt bond issues. He handles mergers and acquisitions, and represents clients who are financing businesses or real estate. The financial aspect of his practice frequently involves estate and tax planning. Mr. Elliott also represents businesses and individuals in the U.S. and around the world with regard to immigration, business and tax matters.
Mr. Elliott served as his firm's Managing Partner from 2003-2004. He was a member of the Board of Governors of the Chattanooga Bar Association from 2006-2007, and a 2008 graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law program.
Mr. Elliott graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics, magna cum laude, where he was an Honors Scholar. He received his law degree from Duke University School of Law in 1996. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1996 and the Georgia Bar in 2004. He is admitted to practice in the U.S Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee, all Tennessee state courts, Georgia Superior Courts and the Supreme Court of Georgia. He is a member of the Tennessee, Federal, Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga Bar Associations, the State Bar of Georgia, and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Mr. Elliott is involved in the Chattanooga community as President of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place 2011-2012, Treasurer and Director of Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, Inc. (housing nonprofit), a member of the Workforce and Education Committee of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Advisory Board of La Paz Chattanooga (Hispanic outreach nonprofit), and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and its music committee.
