Biography

Matthew Thornton is a member of the Memphis law firm of Bourland, Heflin, Alvarez, Minor & Matthews, PLC, where he practices in the areas of probate and trust administration and litigation. He received his B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Mr. Thornton was a member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court and the TBA Leadership Law Class of 2005.  He has been Rule 31 Listed Mediator for over fourteen years.  He formerly served on the Executive Council of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the TBA. Mr. Thornton has been honored to be named a Mid-South SuperLawyer for multiple years and is a frequent speaker at seminars regarding estate administration tips and techniques.
