Biography

Wyla is currently the Law Clerk and Special Master for Davidson County Chancery Court, Part I. She previously served as the Assistant Director for Field Operations in the Audit Division of the Tennessee Department of Revenue. In this role, she was responsible for over 200 employees located in 14 field offices across Tennessee and in major cities of the United States. These field offices assess an average of $200 million in state tax per year. Prior to joining the Department, Wyla served for five years as Special Master and Law Clerk to Davidson County Chancery Court, Part I where she heard referred cases and also drafted judicial opinions involving complex business disputes and state administrative appeals. Prior to Chancery Court, she worked in the Tax Division of the Tennessee Attorney General's Office representing state agencies, including the Department of Revenue and several state regulatory boards, in trial court and appellate litigation. Wyla is a Certified Public Accountant. She obtained her law degree from Emory University School of Law and her accounting degree summa cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University. Wyla is also a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Mediator and a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law (TBALL) program.
