Biography

Scott's law practice includes but is not limited to Community Association Law; Real Estate Law; Creditor's Rights and Collections Law; Contracts; subdivision restrictions enforcement; general counsel services to community association boards and professional community association managers; Landlord-Tenant Law; foreign judgment domestication. Scott regularly lectures on issues pertinent to community associations and real estate law.

 Scott was the 2017 President for the Tennessee Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI), serves on the Board of Directors and Legislative Action Committee of CAI.  Scott is Tennessee's first and only member of the prestigious CAI College of Community Association Lawyers, having earned the title of CCAL Fellow.  Scott is Chairman of the Tennessee Bar Association Homeowner Association Act Drafting Committee who has been charged with drafting a historic new Act for Tennessee which, when passed into law, will codify homeowner associations for the first time in Tennessee.

Scott is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Tennessee Army National Guard and retired as a Colonel in the Tennessee State Guard. .

Scott is a member of the National and Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians. Scott has been a certified scuba diver since 1992 and has earned the professional certification of Divemaster thru the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI).  He is also a certified Rescue Diver; Wreck Diver and Master Scuba Diver.
