Faculty Profile: Pamela Johnson

In May 2014, Judge Johnson was one of eight attorneys appointed to the new Tennessee Court of Workers' Compensation Claims. Now a 12-member court, Judge Johnson hears cases pending in Knoxville. 

Judge Johnson is a Past-President of the National Association of Workers' Compensation Judiciary (NAWCJ). Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Lunch & Learn and New Judges' Boot Camp committees. She was inducted into the NAWCJ Hall of Fame in 2024 and earned her national certification as a certified workers' compensation adjudicator in 2025. In April 2026, Judge Johnson was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers. 

Judge Johnson is a regular speaker on issues of workers' compensation practice and procedures at the national, state, and local levels. She is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, and National Association of Workers' Compensation Judiciary.

She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in August 1997, and her law degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in May 2000. She is married to Brian and has two sons, Nick and Nathan.
