T. J. Gentle is a Partner at Miller & Martin PLLC in its Corporate Department where he practices business law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and securities transactions. He works with high growth and technology-based companies in various industries, including distributed ledger technologies (DLT), blockchain, and cryptocurrency related businesses. He assists companies in raising venture capital and related financing, structuring strategic alliances and joint ventures, and protecting and licensing intellectual property. Prior to returning to Miller & Martin in 2016, Mr. Gentle spent ten years as a business operator, which included serving as the President & CEO of SmartFurniture.com, a venture backed Internet retailer, and Co-Founder of Delegator.com and PriceWaiter.com. He has served as a board member for several companies and continues to advise and mentor entrepreneurs in the Chattanooga area. He has served on the board of directors for several community and non-profit organizations, including the Business Forward Business Advisory Council in Washington D.C. where he consulted with Senior White House Officials regarding small business policy matters. Mr. Gentle was a scholarship athlete at MTSU where he played linebacker for the Blue Raiders, and he was on the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Law Review while at the University of Tennessee College of Law. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys reading and writing. T.J. lives in Chattanooga with his wife Greta and their four boys.
