Phillip (Phil) Walker focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling, including the procurement and enforcement of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. He counsels his clients on the economic benefits and implications of intellectual property protection and litigation. Mr. Walker advises his clients in the evaluation and protection of complex technologies, including inventions in the mechanical, medical, telecommunications, optical, materials, chemical, computer software and Internet business arts.
In addition to filing and prosecuting hundreds of patent applications, Mr. Walker routinely advises his clients on the potential scope of patent protect available for a given idea and the potential liability, level of protection or enforceability associated with issued patents. He also counsels his clients on a wide variety of trademark, Internet, unfair competition and copyright issues, including dispute resolution, licensing, intellectual asset management and strategic counseling.
Prior to entering law school, Mr. Walker worked as a regional marketing engineer for Trane, Inc., where he provided structural, technical, software and budgeting support for the company's commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning products.
