I formerly served as Disciplinary Counsel in the Investigations Division of the Board of Professional Responsibility where I investigated ethics complaints against attorneys across the State of Tennessee. I also provided informal ethics opinions for members of the bar and have spoken across the State of Tennessee on a variety of ethics-related topics. Prior to serving as Disciplinary Counsel, I spent nine years in Memphis as a litigation attorney in a small firm and as a solo practitioner. I am the former chair of the Memphis Bar Association's Access to Justice Committee and currently serve as Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. I currently serve on the Board of Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services and previously served as a Board member and President of Tennessee CASA, a non-profit organization established to support the development, growth and continuation of programs which recruit and train volunteers to serve as advocates representing the best interests of children in court proceedings.
