Biography

Jon Harris represents major employers in the retail, automotive, hospitality, information services, and manufacturing industries dealing with complex employment issues. Stan provides immediate access, risk mitigation advice, and strategic planning that serve clients' specific goals in litigation and daily advice and counsel.

His practice includes extensive experience with the defense of matters related to:
? ADA, ADAAA, and public accommodation issues
? FLSA exemption and wage disputes
? ERISA benefits disputes
? ADEA disputes
? FMLA litigation
? USERRA disputes
? Labor Management Relations Act disputes
? Litigation arising under the Civil Rights Acts of 1866 and 1964
? State civil rights disputes, including matters in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and Tennessee

He also has broad experience in non-compete disputes, medical peer review actions, drug testing and medical inquiries, and business disputes.

A former assistant attorney general, Stan has the experience to take a matter all the way through the litigation, trial, and appellate process, and the knowledge to offer strategic alternatives that best meet the client's goals. For several years, Stan has served on the Steering Committee for the Labor and Employment Section of DRI, an international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business in civil litigation. He also formerly served as Chair of the Tennessee Bar Labor and Employment Law Section.
