
Michael Holley is the Senior Litigation Counsel at the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition. Before joining TIRRC, he practiced criminal defense as a federal public defender in Nashville for more than 20 years. He has served on the Pattern Jury Instruction Committee for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and as co-chair of the amicus committee for the National Association of Federal Public Defenders. He started his career representing migrant farmworkers for Texas Rural Legal Aid and then handling detained immigration cases for the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center. He has a JD from UC Berkeley Law and a BA from Duke University.
