Faculty Profile: Beth Sims

Beth Sims serves as general counsel and corporate secretary to FirstBank and FB Financial Corporation (NYSE: FBK).

Prior to joining FirstBank, Beth served as a partner at Butler Snow LLP and on the firm’s securities team. Beth was named a Mid-South Rising Star in banking by Super Lawyers and, as outside counsel, she counseled public and private financial institutions on a variety of corporate and securities issues, including corporate governance, public company disclosure and mergers.  In 2020, Beth received a “Best of the Bar” award for Corporate Counsel from the Nashville Business Journal.

She is a graduate of The College of Wooster, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and the University of Tennessee, where she earned her juris doctorate. In law school, Beth was a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the Tennessee Law Review.

Beth is married with two children.
