JON STANLEY practices corporate and securities law. Within this field he serves a broad base of clients, ranging from large private equity firms and hedge funds to founder-owned local businesses.
Jon has particular experience and expertise in change of control transactions. He is well-versed in the complex issues that often accompany these transactions, including the formation of special committees and the going private rules under section 13(e).
Though his practice is not limited to Tennessee state law, Jon has enjoyed the opportunity to act as local counsel on several of the largest M&A transactions involving Tennessee properties that have occurred in recent years, advising on matters specific to Tennessee's corporate laws.
Jon received his law degree from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, he was on the Dean’s List and served as an associate editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. Jon received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia.
