Biography

Brian is the Tax Managing Partner for BDO’s Atlanta office.  Brian is an attorney and CPA with over 26 years of experience serving clients in tax matters. Specializing in multi-state taxes, he has advised Fortune 500 as well as middle-market companies with multi-state and multi- national operations. Brian specializes in reviewing business models and tax specific issues to help clients improve compliance and take advantage of opportunities.  Brian has served diverse industries, such as manufacturing, financial services, retail, technology, and ecommerce. He is a frequent speaker and author on the topic of multi-state taxes.
 
Prior to joining BDO, Brian was the Tax Practice Leader for LBMC, a top 50 CPA firm with $90M in annual revenues and approximately 500 employees located in three offices -- Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, TN. Brian was a Managing Director in the CBIZ National Tax Office for three years. In this role, Brian provided state and local tax services to CBIZ accounting and tax offices nationwide. Brian was the partner in charge of state and local tax services for 12 years with Thompson Dunavant, PLC, a local CPA firm based in Memphis, TN. Brian began his career in 1993, and held positions with Arthur Andersen, LLP, and Ernst & Young, LLP in Atlanta, GA and Memphis, TN.
