Ben was recently elected in the August 4th, 2022 general election, as the Chancellor of the 19th Judicial District (Montgomery and Robertson Counties). He is a lifelong resident of Springfield/Robertson County. He graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law in 2005, and thereafter practiced with the Batson Nolan law firm in the litigation section of the firm’s Clarksville office until 2011, when he started a solo practice in Springfield. While in private practice, he engaged in a general practice including criminal law, wills, estates/probate, civil litigation and personal injury, primarily in Robertson, Davidson, Sumner and Montgomery Counties. He also maintained a federal practice in the areas of civil rights/excessive force and consumer law. Chancellor Dean is currently in the process of updating the local rules of practice and other procedures for the Chancery Court in 19th Judicial District.
