Biography

Hemant is a transactional attorney whose practice focuses on a broad range of intellectual property and technology matters, including complex software agreements, (including cloud computing, SaaS, PaaS, enterprise agreements, blockchain and smart contracts), technology licensing, foreign and domestic patent and trademark prosecution, e-commerce, data security, social media, infringement analysis, commercialization agreements, and enforcement of IP assets.  He regularly counsels on IP and technology aspects of public and private corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and venture capital financing.

Hemant has represented a broad spectrum of clients, including emerging companies, research institutions, and Fortune 500 companies in many different technology areas including software, data analytics, IoT, biotechnology, medical devices, industrial chemicals, and consumer products.  Prior to joining Egan Nelson LLP, Hemant was head of the Intellectual Property practice at Butler Snow LLP where he counseled companies on growing and protecting their IP assets in preparation for corporate transactions.  He has also previously worked in cancer and molecular biology research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as a software programmer and system administrator at the University of Pennsylvania.
