Biography

Stephen Marsh is the Senior Associate Counsel for the Mid-Cumberland Region of the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services. He received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from Appalachian State University in 2002. He graduated from Regent University School of Law in 2006. He has been licensed as an attorney in Tennessee since 2007. Upon receiving his law license, he began practicing predominantly child welfare law in East Tennessee as a sole practitioner. Thereafter, in 2013, he was hired as an Assistant General Counsel in the Northeast Region. He was certified as a child welfare law specialist in 2014 by the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC). In 2017, he moved to the Middle Tennessee area where he has served as Senior Associate Counsel for the Mid Cumberland region for the last 7 years. He also participated in, and graduated from, the Tennessee Government Management Institute in 2018 and the Tennessee Government Executive Institute in 2021.

In addition to practicing law, he also teaches as an adjunct instructor at Caldwell Community College since August 2007. When not practicing law and teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He has also served as a minister in various capacities for the last 20 years.
