Biography

Judge Jonathan Fly serves as an Administrative Judge with the Tennessee Department of Human Services.  In this role, he presides over a high volume of contested case hearings under the Tennessee Uniform Administrative Procedures Act.  Additionally, Judge Fly is trained as a Rule 31 General Civil Mediator.  Before joining the Tennessee Department of Human Services in 2014, he worked as an attorney in private practice in both Birmingham and Nashville doing mainly civil litigation.  He holds a B.A. in English from Davidson College where he was four year NCAA division one athlete as a member of the cross county and track and field teams.  Judge Fly received his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he was a Senior Associate Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and an officer on the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board.
