Biography

Caroline E. Knight was elected Circuit Court Judge September 1, 2022.  Judge Knight presides as trial judge for civil matters across the seven (7) counties of the Thirteenth Judicial District.

From July 2015 until the election, Judge Knight was the Child Abuse Prosecutor for the Thirteenth Judicial District prosecuting felony crimes against children, including physical and sexual abuse, human trafficking and internet crimes in Cumberland, Putnam, White, DeKalb, Overton, Clay, and Pickett Counties. 

In 2011, Knight was hired as an Assistant District Attorney assigned to Cumberland County where she tried and convicted several major felony cases, including First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

From 2006 to 2011, Knight was engaged in the private practice of law.  As a general practitioner, Knight represented clients across the Upper Cumberland in civil matters including Adoption, Divorce and Child Custody, Contract and Property Disputes as well as Wills and Estates.
