Faculty Profile: Sharon Winkler

Sharon Winkler is a Senior Vice President and Compliance Officer with Cumberland Trust where her primary responsibilities involve reviewing and preparing documents, and considering tax, legal and other compliance issues with regard to Cumberland Trust and its clients. 

Ms. Winkler joined Cumberland Trust after spending 16 years as an Estate Tax Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, where she examined federal estate and gift tax returns and ensured compliance with tax law. In addition, Ms. Winkler has spent time with CPA firms as an accountant in the tax department and has engaged in the private practice of law. She has served on the advisory board for the Rutherford County Girl Scouts and is a board member for a small non-profit. 

Ms. Winkler obtained her B.S. in Accounting (Cum Laude) and her J.D. (with Honors) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a CPA in Arkansas and is licensed to practice law in both Arkansas and Tennessee.
