Biography

Mark is a founding member of Litchford, Pearce & Associates, PLLC. Mark is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Georgia and concentrates his practice in representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury and Property Law. He also assists clients in Business Transactions and Estate Planning. Mark serves as the City Attorney for the City of East Ridge which he has served since 2017.
Mark has routinely represented clients on appeals in federal and state courts involving a variety of subjects, including landowner tax disputes, federal and state constitutional law, civil rights, competitive business practices, and Tennessee Open Records Act.
Mark has also represented clients in a variety of trial matters, including business disputes, personal injury, employee non-compete agreements, breach of contract, federal and state constitutional law, real property disputes, adversarial bankruptcy proceedings, negligent construction, unemployment and discrimination actions, Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, commercial and corporate shareholder disputes, public records actions, general governmental regulatory actions, and municipal code enforcement actions.
A native of Crossville, Tennessee, Mark attended The McCallie School of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, for both his undergraduate and Master's degree. Mark received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at Memphis University and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and an active participant in the Mock Trial and Advanced Moot Court competitions. Mark was also the recipient of the CALI Award given to the student with the top overall score in Property and was also the recipient of the Cicero Award for outstanding oral argument performance in Legal Methods.
Prior to forming Litchford, Pearce & Associates, PLLC, Mark served as a director at Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C. until 2019. Mark also clerked for the Honorable W. Neil Thomas, III, of the Circuit Court for Hamilton County, Tennessee. Mark also taught calculus, geometry and algebra at the Boyd Buchanan School in Chattanooga for three years prior to attending law school.
Mark is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Chattanooga Bar Associations and is licensed to practice in Tennessee, Georgia, the Eastern District of Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
