Biography

Elizabeth Sitgreaves is an attorney at The Law Offices of John Day where she practices in the area of personal injury and tort litigation as well as appellate practice.

Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Frank G. Clement, Jr., of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, including four years as the judge's Senior Clerk.  This experience provided Sitgreaves with a broad-based exposure to litigation in the state across almost all practice areas, with specific emphasis on administrative law, contracts, torts, and domestic relations.

Sitgreaves attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served on the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy.  Sitgreaves  received her B.A. in political science magna cum laude from the University of Georgia where she also served on the University Judiciary.

A member of the Nashville Bar Association, Sitgreaves co-chairs the Circuit & Chancery Court Committee and previously chaired the Appellate Practice Committee. She was in the inaugural class of the Nashville Bar Foundation's Leadership Forum. A long-time Board Member of the Lawyers' Association for Women ("LAW"), Marion Griffin Chapter, Sitgreaves currently serves as the President. In 2015, she received LAW's inaugural Rising Star Award. Sitgreaves most recently spearheaded LAW's Coalition for Fair Courts, which provided voter education and outreach during the retention elections of Tennessee's appellate court judges. She is also a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and is a Barrister in the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court.

Sitgreaves has long been dedicated to public service.  She has also been involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee for many years, as a Big Sister and organizing teams to raise funds for the organization as part of the Lawyers for Littles Bowling Events. Sitgreaves co-chaired the 2015 Lawyers for Littles event, which raised over $20,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys sampling Nashville's thriving food scene.
