Biography

Paula Schaefer is the Art Stolnitz Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee College of Law. Professor Schaefer’s scholarship and teaching focus on the subject of attorney ethics. She is the co-author of Professional Responsibility in the Life of the Lawyer, two additional text books, and numerous articles addressing attorney fiduciary duty and professional conduct obligations. She is a Subject Matter Expert for the MPRE and a contributing author to the KBA’s monthly Schooled in Ethics column. She started her legal career in the business litigation section of Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City, Missouri. She later practiced in the commercial litigation and appellate practice groups at Bryan Cave. She has been a professor at UT Law since 2008.
