Biography

Shannon is a graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law where she served as Editor-In-Chief of The University of Memphis Law Review.  She is an attorney at Butler Snow LLP in the firm's Memphis office, where she advises clients on HIPAA privacy and security issues, development of HIPAA compliance programs, and responding to privacy-related investigations and audits.  She is also experienced in compliance with federal and state anti-fraud and anti-abuse matters, include the federal physician self-referral law (Stark Law), self-disclosure and reporting regulations, anti-kickback matters, fee-splitting issues, healthcare licensure, and certificate of need.
