Faculty Profile: Lauren Fields

Lauren Fields is an Associate General Counsel and Assistant Director for Legal with the Tennessee Department of Revenue. Lauren assists the Department’s General Counsel in managing legal office functions as well as providing legal counsel to various divisions within the Department. She also served as a legislative liaison during the 109th General Assembly, providing assistance and explanation regarding Tennessee state tax law and administration to representatives and constituents. In addition, Lauren works with the Attorney General’s Office on litigation cases and has been extensively involved in recent rulemaking processes. Lauren has been with the Department for almost three years. She has a law degree from Tulane University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
