Faculty Profile: LaTonnsya Burney

LaTonnsya Burney is General Counsel for the Nashville Soccer Club, where she provides strategic legal and business counsel as a member of the senior leadership team. She advises on matters involving compliance, risk management, employment, stadium operations and soccer operations for the Nashville Soccer Club and the Huntsville City Football Club. She also oversees the Human Resources Department. 
 
Prior to joining NSC, Burney served as Associate General Counsel at Vanderbilt University, where she worked on a broad range of legal and compliance matters related to athletics and university operations during a dynamic time in college athletics. 
 
She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis School of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University. She is passionate about sports, mentorship, and empowering individuals in her community. She is honored to work for a sports organization committed to community-forward initiatives.
