Reid Alan Waltz currently serves as Director of Business & Legal Affairs at SESAC, the first music rights organization (“MRO”) in the United States. He has been with the company since 2003 and has more than twenty years of experience in the entertainment industry and intellectual property including copyright and trademark. In addition, he currently serves on the Executive Council for the Tennessee Bar Association Entertainment and Sports Law Section.
Reid received his Juris Doctor from the Nashville School of Law where he is a member of the Cooper’s Inn Honor Society and a recipient of the Founder’s Award, recognizing the highest academic achievement in his graduating class. Reid graduated magna cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in recording industry management.
Reid is a member of the Tennessee State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has also participated in numerous organizations, including the American Inns of Court, the Nashville School of Law Entertainment and Sports Law Society, the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Association.
