Kortney is a partner at Casey, Simmons and Bryant, PLLC where she provides juvenile law, family law, and criminal defense services to clients across Tennessee. From 2012-2014, she acted as a guest lecturer for the Black Executive's Exchange Program hosted at Lane College. She has also served as a Special Judge on the Jackson City Court and completed work with the Jackson Service League and West Tennessee Legal Services Board of Directors. She currently acts as President and has acted as a board member of the TBA Young Lawyers Division, and as a TBA District 13 Representative. She is also a member of the Federal Bar for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Simmons received her J.D. with a Certificate in Criminal Law from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2011. Simmons also received a B.S. in International Relations from Middle Tennessee State University upon graduating cum laude in 2007.
