BiographyHilary Lang has extensive experience developing and managing domestic and international patent portfolios, conducting freedom to operate analyses, and preparing patentability and non-infringement opinions in the life sciences industry. Ms. Lang has obtained numerous domestic and foreign patents for both corporate and academic clients in a variety of technology areas, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, drug delivery, polymers, petroleum products, medical devices, cosmetics, nutraceuticals and food products. She also has experience in patent litigation matters.
Ms. Lang previously practiced in Boston, and has more than a decade of IP legal experience. Prior to her career in patent law, Hilary obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago, where her research focused on synthetic organic chemistry methodology, particularly using photochemistry. She also has drug discovery experience, having served as a research associate at Chiron Corporation, where she developed synthetic methods on solid support to prepare libraries of chemical compounds.
